About ClubNerds
Most golf gear reviews are written by marketers, not golfers. They push whatever pays the highest commission. We think that's backwards.
ClubNerds was built on a simple idea: the best clubs for a 25-handicap are completely different from the best clubs for a scratch golfer. Yet most review sites give you the same “best driver” list regardless of your game.
We use strokes gained data — the same analytics framework used on the PGA Tour — to understand where amateur golfers actually lose shots. Then we match gear recommendations to those specific weaknesses at each handicap level.
How we pick gear
Data first
We analyze strokes gained patterns by handicap to understand what each skill level actually needs.
Handicap-matched
A high-MOI driver helps a 20-handicap more than a low-spin head built for 115 mph swing speed.
Honest picks
We earn affiliate commissions, but they never influence what we recommend. Data picks the winner.
Who's behind this
ClubNerds is a Tunajam project, built by a software engineer who got tired of buying the wrong clubs. We're based in Portland, Oregon.
